Fans of the Maserati MSG Formula E team were treated to a unique preview event held at H.R. Owenu2019s new state-of-the-art Maserati Hatfield showroom ahead of the final rounds of the season in London.
With the UK capital playing host to a double-header of decisive races on Saturday and Sunday, a group of lucky fans gathered at Hatfield on Thursday July 27th ahead of the race weekend for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain insight into both the brandu2019s motorsport and road-going operations.
Both Maserati MSG drivers, Edoardo Mortara and Maximilian Gunther, were present to share their experiences of racing at the highest level of electric motorsport. Despite a difficult season, each driver had reasons to be positive heading into the final weekend, with Mortara sitting a respectable 14th in the 25-man championship and Gunther having risen to 7th place while claiming the teamu2019s win of the year in Jakarta.u00a0
Having benefitted from their insights, attendeesu2019 attention then turned to a Q&A session with designers from Maserati, covering the styling of the brandu2019s new all electric Folgore range u2013 developed using Formula E technology. Cars from the Folgore range included the Grecale and two examples of the GranTurismo, allowing the designers to illustrate how ideas are translated from the racetrack to the road. As the first luxury Italian automotive brand to offer a fully electric vehicle, the name Folgore which means lightening in Italian, becomes a suitable stamp in the Italian history books.
