H.R. Owen hands over the first Czinger 21C to a UK customer – a special moment made even more significant by the fact that it was one of Czinger’s ‘Blackbird Edition’ models, inspired by the legendary Lockheed Martin SR-71 spy plane.
H.R. Owen has been the sole UK retailer for Czinger vehicles since 2022, guiding customers through the development and testing process for this revolutionary hypercar ever since. With a unique tandem seating arrangement. 3D-printed metal components and a twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain, it’s one of the most advanced hypercars on sale.
And the Blackbird Edition is the pinnacle of the range, with only four examples ever to be built. It delivers 1,350 horsepower – a 100hp increase over the standard 21C – generated by a proprietary 2.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine combined with axial flux electric motors at each front wheel. The hybrid system can propel the Black Edition from 0-60mph in just 1.9 seconds which – combined with the advanced aerodynamics, torque vectoring and lightweight design – has allowed Czinger to set multiple track records including a 1:24.75-minute lap time at Laguna Seca.
Visually, the Blackbird Edition features bespoke Jet Black paint created specifically for maximum darkness, complemented by exposed carbon fibre elements and custom wheels designed to mirror the SR-71’s distinctive top-view profile. Inside, the black Alcantara interior includes Afterburner Orange contrasting details.
What sets all Czinger vehicles apart is their revolutionary AI-aided design process in which components are generatively designed and refined by both computer and human. Not a single gram of material is wasted, ensuring maximum parity between strength and lightness. Many components use Czinger’s groundbreaking 3D-printing technology, allowing precise tolerances and shapes otherwise impossible, to achieve theoretical performance limits. The front upper control arms are hollow with three-dimensional internal structures, weighing a fraction of traditionally manufactured components, for example.
