One hundred years after the first Bentley 3 Litre Super Sports became the first Bentley capable of exceeding 100 mph, one of the most evocative names in the marque’s history returns. The new Supersports is only the fourth model in Bentley’s history to carry the name, and the most driver-focused Bentley ever created. Where its predecessors pursued ultimate top speed, the new Supersports sets its sights on something more rewarding still: the purest possible connection between driver, car and road. It remains faithful to W.O. Bentley’s founding vow: “To build a fast car, a good car, the best in its class.” Strictly limited to just 500 individually numbered examples, each one hand-crafted in Crewe, it is destined to become one of the most collectable Bentleys of the modern era.
For the first time in Continental GT history, power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels. At its heart lies a pure internal combustion, twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 producing 657BHP and 800Nm, the highest power density of any Bentley engine, breathing through a full-length Akrapovič titanium exhaust that delivers an authentic, deeply characterful V8 soundtrack. Nearly half a tonne lighter than the Continental GT and weighing in below two tonnes, it is the lightest Bentley in 85 years, while carbon fibre aerodynamics generate more than 300kg of additional downforce compared with the Continental GT Speed. Inside, a bespoke two-seat cabin places driver and passenger lower in the car in new lightweight sports seats, surrounded by carbon fibre, leather and Dinamica.
