Our roots in this area run deep. The Cheltenham business began as Broughtons of Cheltenham in 1946, long before becoming part of the H.R. Owen group in 2011. The company was founded by Commander Broughton at Number One, The High Street, Cheltenham, and we have now been operating at the highest level for eighty years as of 2026. Our commitment over this time to looking after our customers has been instrumental in helping HR Owen become one of the largest privately-owned luxury motor car retailers in the UK.
The business has evolved through Rolls-Royce and Bentley before Specialist Cars was opened in 2015 alongside Aston Martin Cheltenham. We have also founded operations in Cardiff, Hatfield and Manchester, in a pursuit to deliver luxury motor care quality nationwide. During the past eighty years, we have built an unrivalled reputation for excellence and expertise in luxury and performance vehicles specialising in the sale and maintenance of Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Aston Martin, amongst many others.
H.R. Owen has made significant investment in a new site to ensure we can continue to offer the level of service, facilities, and technical capability that discerning owners expect. The new state-of-the-art facility is officially opening in March 2026, and while the building itself has changed, much else remains reassuringly familiar. We are still based at the same Cheltenham address and postcode, supported by the same team who have been caring for Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce and other luxury car owners locally for many years.
Our highly experienced technicians and colleagues (many of whom have been with the business for up to 25 years), continue to offer the same care, pride and attention to detail we always have. Our focus remains firmly on looking after our customers for many years to come.
