New Vantage Roadster redefines the rules with a design that provides the panache, sense of freedom and adventure for which convertibles are famed, but without the limitations traditionally inherent in their design. As beautiful as its hard-top coupe companion, new Vantage Roadster features the fastest operating fully automatic roof on the market, opening or closing fully in just 6.8 seconds, and at speeds of up to 31mph (50km/h). This is a sculptural and engineering masterpiece that enables drivers to enjoy the complete freedom of the open road utterly without compromise.
Powered by the majestic Aston Martin 665PS/800Nm 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, new Vantage Roadster brings all the class-leading performance, dynamic sensations, and visual excitement of the coupe model, with an additional dimension of roof-down freedom for the ultimate ultra-immersive, open-air driving experience. The top speed remains the same as Vantage Coupe at 202 mph, with the sprint from rest to 62mph taking just 3.6 seconds.
Thanks to its ultra-stiff yet lightweight aluminium structure, composite body panels and 49:51 front-to-rear weight distribution, Vantage Roadster provides the ideal platform for an unmatched driving experience. Featuring race-inspired unequal-length double wishbones at the front, a multi-link rear axle, coil springs and Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers (with a bespoke tune), along with a non-isolated steering column, Vantage Roadster provides the pure precision, balance, poise and, above all, confidence that are the unmistakable hallmarks of the truly great high performance driver’s car.
Like all Aston Martin models, Vantage customers can explore endless bespoke and customisation possibilities via the Q by Aston Martin personalisation service. Enlisting the skills of Q’s designers and crafts people, customers take an unforgettable personal commissioning journey that can encompass everything from a single small distinguishing detail to full-scale engineering and production of entirely bespoke components to create a true one-off.
The new Vantage Roadster features enhanced structural rigidity through weight-optimised shear panels. This increased rear stiffness allows chassis-mounted components, such as the DTX dampers, to operate at their absolute optimum. Combined with larger anti-roll bars to maximise body control, the Roadster syncs the driver perfectly with the elements, creating an intensely responsive and visceral driving experience.
The Roadster’s bespoke ‘Z-fold’ roof system effortlessly transforms the car, creating an open-air driver’s nirvana. Both lightweight and compact, the mechanism is designed to fold to a mere 210 mm stack height, maintaining a seamless, sleek rear profile while maximising luggage capacity. The roof operates at the touch of a button in just 6.7 seconds—a class-leading speed—and can be activated at speeds of up to 31 mph.
Mirroring the Coupe, the Roadster represents the most emphatic leap in power—and the most profound evolution of emotion—in the 70-year history of the Vantage bloodline. At its heart lies a boldly reworked, hand-built 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. Meticulously engineered to perfection, it produces a peak of 670 PS and a colossal 800 Nm of torque.
Precision-engineered steel brakes provide superlative stopping power as standard. For those seeking even greater performance, the optional Carbon Ceramic Brakes reduce unsprung mass by 27 kg. Measuring 400 mm at the front and 360 mm at the rear, they significantly enhance braking efficiency while virtually eliminating brake fade at temperatures up to 800°C. This is achieved through drilled faces that ensure superior heat rejection, even under extreme load.
Beneath the Z-fold roof lies a cockpit that is at once reworked, redesigned, and revolutionary. The interior architecture now features more pronounced horizontal surfaces that mirror the horizon line, syncing the driver with their environment.
You are cocooned within hand-stitched Bridge of Weir leather, while a lowered hip point settles the driver into a deeper, more focused sporting position. Within easy reach at the base of the centre console nestles the tactile, metallised switch for the roof—a final detail designed to free you for a drive of total precision.
The new Vantage Roadster debuts our next-generation infotainment system, devised, designed and developed entirely in-house. Brimming with seamless connectivity, the interface features advanced 3D mapping and satellite-view technology, alongside fully integrated wireless Apple CarPlay Ultra®.
The Roadster offers the optional ‘Halo’ system, developed in collaboration with Aston Martin’s audio partner, Bowers & Wilkins. This 15-speaker, double-amplified 1,170W surround-sound system envelops the cabin, featuring dedicated 3D headliner speakers and a high-performance subwoofer.
