The Bentley Mulsanne has long stood as the pinnacle of Bentley luxury, first making its debut in 1980. Named after the high-speed Mulsanne Corner of the Le Mans racing circuit, the original model ran until 1992, succeeding the Bentley Arnage T-series. This luxury saloon was designed with an intense focus on comfort, elegance, and bespoke craftsmanship, embodying the brand’s tradition. It featured a powerful 6.75-litre V8 engine—a modified version of the Bentley T-series’ engine—and introduced advanced features for its era, such as anti-lock brakes and self-levelling suspension, setting the standard for luxury cars of the time.
After a significant break, Bentley revived the Mulsanne in 2010 with an entirely new generation, reaffirming its dedication to quality and luxury. This updated Mulsanne boasted a more modern, muscular exterior while retaining classic Bentley design elements. The interior was a masterpiece of meticulous craftsmanship, featuring premium, handcrafted materials like leather, wood veneers, and metal accents, alongside the latest technology, including an ultramodern infotainment system and advanced driver assistance features. Throughout its production, the second-generation Mulsanne expanded with variants like the performance-focused Mulsanne Speed (added in 2014) and the Extended Wheelbase (2016), which added 250mm of rear legroom for enhanced passenger comfort. However, in 2020, Bentley announced the Mulsanne would be discontinued after a decade of production to make way for the brand’s next flagship sedan, marking the end of an important chapter in Bentley’s history.
