CRAFTSMANSHIP TO ENJOY
The Ghost Series II design refinements are subtle but distinctive. The Spirit of Ecstasy now trails a ‘wake’ behind her down the bonnet, and the famed Rolls-Royce waft line in the profile now leans further forward. Inside, the designers and craftsmen of Rolls-Royce have focused on the power of simplicity, giving drivers and passengers all the luxury they could wish for. The front seats now include electronically adjustable thigh supports and depth adjustment, while the rear seats have been gently re-angled towards each other, lounge-style, to enable effortless communication. Most owners of the Ghost II Extended Wheelbase will spend their journey times in that spacious rear compartment. Accessed through a one-touch call button or the Spirit of Ecstasy Rotary Controller, on-board Wi-Fi puts email, file sharing, telephony and videoconferencing at the owner’s fingertips. Passengers can now watch televised business news, summon navigation assistance or connect calls using a one-touch call button. And when they’ve finished, they can sit back in the rear compartment and enjoy the cinematic experience of two independently controlled high-resolution 9.2" screens and an 18-speaker Bespoke Audio system.
DYNAMIC DRIVING
Spacious and luxurious though the rear compartment may be, there is plenty of incentive to take the wheel from time to time. The tidal wave of power delivered by the twin-turbo, 6.6 litre, V12 engine takes the Extended Wheelbase Ghost II from 0-62mph in a mere 5.0 seconds. If the Dynamic Driving Package is specified, re-engineered front and rear struts, new steering gear and adjusted dampers increase the car’s cornering ability, while the satellite-aided transmission reads the topography of the road ahead, anticipating gradients and descents and holding lower gears when appropriate. As a result the Ghost Series II Extended Wheelbase can cover ground deceptively fast, without unsettling those hard-working passengers.
