Pininfarina Battista

Revolutionising automotive performance, design and technical collaboration, the Pininfarina Battista is the world’s first luxury electric hyper performance GT. Offering zero emissions with extreme power, the Battista is the first solely Pininfarina-badged car, providing the perfect combination of elegance and performance.

Overview

Arriving in 2020, the all-electric Battista will become the most powerful car ever designed and built in Italy. Its motor produces almost 1,900hp, presenting a level of performance that is unprecedented in road-legal automobiles featuring internal combustion engines. As well as attaining speeds in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph), the Battista is capable of reaching 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under 2 seconds – quicker than a current Formula 1 race car. Together with its extraordinary performance, a potential zero-emissions range of up to 279 miles is achievable with its 120 kWh, liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery.

Forming the foundations of the hypercar, a carbon fibre monocoque chassis and visually stunning carbon fibre body demonstrate Pininfarina’s engineering excellence coupled with elegant Italian design. This results in delivering functional, yet driver-focused design solutions.

Inside, Pininfarina has carefully designed the hypercar’s ergonomic layout to ensure each driver, regardless of their experience, is able to maximise drivability through an accessible setup – whether they be driving at 15mph or 150mph. Focusing on attention to detail, all aluminium parts are finished in brushed anodised aluminium, with many of these parts featuring special knurling for additional grip. The seats, door inserts, centre console and knee pads all feature luxury quilting and a leather insert is incorporated at the twelve o’clock position on the steering wheel. Alongside this, a number of dials in the cockpit are finished in an anodised Blu Iconica, whilst optional carbon fibre components and a ‘Battista’ plate at the bottom of the steering wheel are also presented.

Each intricately built Battista is a rare, beautiful and pure performance car. The emissions-free benefits of the pure-electric powertrain do not dictate the Battista’s style, drivability of luxurious ambience – allowing future owners the enjoy the luxury of a hyper GT guilt-free.

Producing a monumental 1,900bhp and 1,696lb-ft of torque, the Pininfarina Battista is the most powerful Italian road car ever produced. Hitting 60mph in under two seconds, and accelerating up to 186mph in less than 12, the Battista will top out at in incredible 218mph and last up to 300 miles on a single charge (at motorway speed). Utilising a 120kWh battery pack from Rimac Automobili, the Battista has four electric motors powering each wheel independently. Founded in 1928, Pininfarina is known the world over as one of Italy’s most influential design houses. Responsible for a vast number of the world’s finest automotive creations, Pininfarina has its name on the rear right quarter of more than 110 iconic production vehicles, and over 50 of its own unique vehicular designs. The Battista, however, is the company’s first production vehicle to be designed and manufactured in-house.
