The special edition Lamborghini LP 550-2 Tricolore has been created for a very significant celebration: to mark 150 years of Italian unification. Symbolically, just 150 examples will be produced. The most obvious identifying feature of this exclusive Lamborghini is the offset red white and green ‘tricolore’ that runs
the full length of the bonnet, roof and engine cover. This Italian flag theme continues with the colours stitched into the leather and Alcantara driver’s seat. The kick plates also bear the model’s ‘Tricolore’ logo. Each car will feature a special commemorative plaque.
As well as looks, speed and handling, the Tricolore also proves surprisingly practical in the real world. Its low ground clearance, for example, need not be a problem when facing commonplace issues such as bad roads or speed bumps; the front suspension’s raise function can lift the car’s nose above the level of these and similar obstacles.
The active and passive safety features on the Tricolore ensure optimum stability and protection for the occupants. The power vacuum brakes with ventilated front and rear discs give the Gallardo a 60mph-0mph stopping distance of just 34 metres. The Pirelli tyres - P ZERO 235/35 ZR19s at the front and P ZERO 295/30 ZR 19s at the rear – deliver superb grip. The Electronic Stability Programme helps to avoid any loss of control, whilst the front “dual-stage” driver and passenger airbags and side “head-thorax airbags” shield you in the event of a collision.
