This is the ultimate development of the world’s ultimate performance car. Bugatti engineers have modified, perfected and honed numerous elements of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 to create the 1,200hp Super Sport, with 1,500Nm of torque and a top speed limited to 258mph. This may well be the most advanced performance car available, but it is also very much in the Bugatti tradition. Even back in the time of Ettore Bugatti, customers would try and persuade the master designer to take his ideas that bit further, to create an ever more capable sports racer or grand tourer that went faster and handled better.
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport has an unmistakable low, long profile. The immensely powerful engine now gets its air from NACA cooling ducts set into the roof, rather than the engine scoops of the original Veyron 16.4. The front air intakes have been expanded and reshaped for optimum efficiency, while the lower ones curve elegantly around the front spoiler into the wheel arch.
From the rear, a new double diffuser and centrally positioned exhausts hint at the extra extreme performance potential.
To boost the power of the awesome W16 8.0L quad turbocharged engine, enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers have been used. To maintain the Veyron’s incredible grip and balance, the chassis has also been extensively modified. Slightly raised spring rates, stiffer and stronger anti-roll bars, and race-bred new shock absorbers have all been developed, adding precision and control at very high speeds.
With even closer interaction between tyres and the four-wheel drive system, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport generates lateral forces of up to 1.4G, and unmatched acceleration in any conditions.
The famous all carbon fibre monocoque has been uprated to ensure incredible torsional rigidity and complete safety for occupants. Despite these advances, overall weight has been reduced. The entire skin of the ultimate Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is made of carbon composite, and the car can be specified in 100 percent clear-lacquered carbon to expose its high-tech beauty.
