Bentley designers have shaped an advanced GT that also pays homage to legendary Bentleys from the past. The R-type Continental was a particular inspiration, through design fundamentals such as the long bonnet, smooth compact cabin profile and pronounced rear haunches. Exterior ‘jewellery’ has been minimised to give key Bentley features such as the twin headlamps and classic matrix grille prominence. With the Supersport model, wider rear arches give the car a more potent presence.
Inside, Bentley craftsmanship has a different feel. Diamond quilting – a pattern you will see on great Bentleys from the past – has been used across the Alcantara cabin trim with contrast stitching and piping. The ambience is contemporary and sporting, and the quality unmistakable. Carbon fibre has been used to finish the fascia and centre console – you will also find it on the unique treadplates with their ‘Supersports’ script, and in the structure of the sports seats.
Here, design and use of materials have been given an uncompromising performance focus, but not just to emphasise the Supersports’ aggressive presence. Being lightweight, they also enhance performance.
