Continental Flying Spur Speed

2008 - 2013

Bentley’s legendary ‘Speed’ models first appeared in 1923, and the new 600bhp Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed is inspired by this thrilling legacy. Capable of 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and 200mph, it provides the same total engagement and refined performance as the much-acclaimed Bentley Continental GT Speed.

Overview

Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed

To honour the ’Speed’ heritage, the Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed has redesigned suspension, a lowered ride height and retuned steering, for exceptional agility and body control. Fail-safe grip is provided by bespoke Pirelli P-Zero UHP tyres on 9.5X20 multi-spoke alloy wheels.

A series of subtle design cues signals the Bentley Flying Spur Speed’s performance credentials, including a dark tinted front grille and lower air intakes, wider rifled exhaust pipes, ‘Speed’ treadplates on all four door sills, and a three-spoke sport leather steering wheel. You will also find drilled alloy pedals and a knurled chrome and hide gear lever.

Technology

Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed
>

The Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed is the most powerful four-door Bentley ever produced. By uprating the 6.0-litre W12’s engine management system, Bentley engineers have raised power output by nine percent and torque by 15 percent, so that this extraordinary car now achieves 553lbs/ft from just 1,750rpm. The result is effortless, vivid acceleration at all engine speeds for peerless overtaking.

To exploit this massive power and torque, the spring/damper settings and anti-roll bars have been specially uprated. A retuned speed-sensitive Servotronic steering system, solid mounted front subframe and stiffer rear bushing all contribute to the sharp performance focus. For drivers who demand maximum involvement, a ‘Dynamic’ mode has been added to the revised Bosch 8.1 ESP system, which allows more progressive, subtle intervention.

As with the Bentley Continental Flying Spur model, you will find painstaking craftsmanship and sophisticated technology working seamlessly together, from the highly advanced infotainment system to the natural wood veneers, only taken from trees after seven or more decades of growth.
