DBS Coupe

2008 - 2012

A single glance at the DBS will affirm a number of distinctive Aston Martin attributes. The build quality and aerodynamic shape of the bodywork is immediately apparent. Good taste is a central characteristic of the DBS, so the bodywork is curved and harmonious with no showy bulges or sharp angles.

The DBS Coupé is an accomplished two-seater performance car with a clearly discernible racing heritage. Whilst built for speed, the car delivers comfort, handling and refinement to go with its ferocious turn of pace.

Overview

The 6.0-litre V12 engine of the DBS Coupé is one it shares with the manufacturer’s DBR9 racing car, a former Le Mans winner. The front mid-mounted, rear-wheel drive unit provides 510 bhp at 6500rpm, with a maximum torque of 570Nm at 5750rpm. Unsurprisingly, the rate of acceleration and maximum speed are impressive – the DBS can reach 62mph from a standing start in 4.3 seconds, and has a top speed of 191mph.

Nevertheless, the vehicle loves the bends of country lanes as much as it does straight, fast roads. The Verticle Horizon structure keeps 85% of the weight of the vehicle between the two wheelbases, meaning that the DBS keeps its balance well at high speeds. Carbon-ceramic brake discs, 20” alloy wheels and a fast-acting Traction Control system also give it the stability to glide round tight corners without any loss of control.

Technology

Aston Martin DBS Coupe

While the racing pedigree of its engine makes it capable of outstanding speed, the DBS offers much more than raw power to the domestic road user. The quiet and comfort of its interior make it just as suitable for steady cruising as rocketing along the motorway.

The cabin provides secure insulation from wind and road noise, leaving you to enjoy the hum of the engine. The electronically adjustable sports seats with memory settings enable you to find the most comfortable position. With the climate control and supple full-grain leather of the upholstery adding to the refinement, you can drive the DBS for hours and still arrive at your destination refreshed.
