A glimpse into the future of Aston Martin Lagonda.
THE ASTON MARTIN VALKYRIE: HYPERCAR TAKES ITS NAME FROM THE GODS
The name continues a fine tradition of Aston Martin ‘V’ cars. This began back in 1951 with Vantage, which was selected as a name to distinguish high performance variants of the then current model, the DB2. Boasting 125bhp versus 105bhp for the standard engine, the Vantage represented a significant increase in performance and desirability. The first time the Vantage badge appeared was on the side of the DB5.
It remained a name reserved for the most potent model derivatives until 2005, when the Vantage became a model line in its own right. Twelve years later the acclaimed family of V8 and V12-powered models has made the Vantage the most successful model in Aston Martin’s history.
Virage, Vanquish and the Aston Martin Vulcan - Aston Martin’s very own God of fire - are more recent ‘V’ cars to continue this lineage. Now, seven decades after the Vantage name started it all, the Aston Martin Valkyrie propels this uniquely distinctive and lyrical family of model names to another level
For Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Office, Marek Reichman, Valkyrie perfectly captures the drama of what is not only the ultimate Aston Martin, but the ultimate expression of hypercar design, engineering and performance: "Aston Martin model names have deep meaning. They need to inspire and excite. To tell a story and enrich a narrative that stretches back some 104-years. The Aston Martin Valkyrie is an incredibly special car that demands an equally remarkable name; an uncompromising car that leaves nothing in reserve. The connotations of power and honour, of being chosen by the Gods are so evocative, and so pertinent to a car that only a fortunate few will ever experience."
While its name is rooted in ancient mythology, the Aston Martin Valkyrie is a pure expression of modern technology. By bringing together Aston Martin, Red Bull Advanced Technologies, project partner AF Racing and some of the world’s leading technology partners, the Aston Martin Valkyrie promises otherworldly performance befitting of its name.
ASTON MARTIN VALHALLA
Valhalla, aka the 'Son of Valkyrie', an all-new performance-bred predator that follows Aston Martin Valkyrie and Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro as the third hyper car in Aston Martin's mid-engine story.
Valhalla will be a revolutionary mid-engine hypercar incorporating concepts and technologies taken directly from F1™ and inspired by Aston Martin Valkyrie, benefitting from the close involvement of Red Bull Advanced Technologies in its design and engineering, continuing one of the brightest and most exciting engineering partnerships in the automotive world.
Sharing the same fundamental styling and aerodynamic philosophy with Aston Martin Valkyrie, Valhalla features a pronounced front keel and large rear diffuser, with the underfloor generating the bulk of the downforce. However, Valhalla will also benefit from next-generation aircraft morphing technology, to create a variable airfoil across the entirety of the rear wing.
Valhalla will remain true to an uncompromising engineering ethos whilst making considerations for practicality and road use, extending the trickle down of genuine state of the art F1 technology into a road legal car. Valhalla will express a design statement that is second to none. As you would expect from a project of this nature, volumes are strictly limited.
VANQUISH VISION CONCEPT
VANQUISH VISION CONCEPT: ICONIC NAME REVIVED FOR ASTON MARTIN’S FIRST MID-ENGINED SERIES PRODUCTION SUPERCAR
Reviving an iconic nameplate traditionally reserved for Aston Martin’s flagship production model, Vanquish Vision Concept showcases the design language of Aston Martin’s first series production mid-engined supercar.
Previewed for the first time at the 89th Geneva Motor Show, the Vanquish Vision Concept benefits from further crystallisation of the philosophy pioneered in the Aston Martin Valkyrie, with the pursuit of weight, packaging and aerodynamic efficiency informing every aspect of the design and engineering.
Vanquish Vision Concept will feature a twin-turbocharged version of Aston Martin’s new V6: the engine that will make its debut in the AM-RB 003 in hybrid turbo form.
In a departure from the Aston Martin Valkyrie and AM-RB 003’s all-carbon fibre construction, the Vanquish Vision Concept also features a bespoke bonded aluminium chassis.
"The full engineering story of this car is yet to be told, but what you see here should tell you this car will not only compete at the highest level, but it will do so in a manner and style unique to Aston Martin." Max Szwaj, Chief Technical Officer
