‘Driven: Maserati GranCabrio Sport’
Harry Metcalfe reviews the news ‘sportier’ Maserati GranCabrio, and writes, “The car rides much better than you’d expect it to, the new dampers keep the body under tighter control and, despite the increased spring rate, ride quality is now probably best in class.” He also praises its ability as a cruiser. Finally, he compares the GranCabrio to the BMW 6-Series Convertible (“the GranCabrio blows it away by having greater interior space, far more driver appeal and an engine you’ll fall in love with”) and, further up the price range, Bentley Continental GTC and Aston Martin DB9 Convertible – “but both of these rivals are nearly 50% more expensive, yet hardly add anything to the ownership experience in return for the greater outlay.”

‘Maserati GranCabrio Sport’
Steve Sutcliffe writes up his first drive of the new GranCabrio Sport, which he describes as ‘always desirable, and now far more rounded.’ Commenting on the upgrades over the standard GranCabrio, Sutcliffe writes, “The transformation is a bit like what happens when Clark Kent emerges from a phone box, and the effect it has on the GranCabrio Sport’s personality is as close to total as it gets.” He compliments the car’s ‘impressive’ ride, adding, “Even on quite rough roads and with Sport engaged, the GranCabrio Sport glides along with impressive refinement. And in normal mode, this car is now a truly impressive cruiser.”

‘Maserati GranCabrio Sport’
Reviewing the new GranCabrio Sport, Luke Madden writes, “The car now feels far more agile and focused than the standard version. Yet it retains the comfort customers expect.” He concludes, “Power is up, emissions are down and it’s sharper to look at and drive. Although it’s getting on a bit, the Ferrari-derived V8 still serves up one of the best sounds in motoring, and offers plenty of pace.” Madden adds, “We can’t think of many reasons why you wouldn’t pick the Sport.”
