H.R. Owen launches the new Bentley Continental GT V8 with a Mayfair pop up club
The Mayfair showroom of luxury car dealer H.R. Owen was transformed last night into a pop up nightclub in association with Boujis to celebrate the European launch of the new Bentley Continental GT V8.
Signature cocktails were showcased by the world famous Boujis club, including a bespoke ‘BB’ cocktail blended with elit™ by Stolichnaya® vodka for the 500 elit(e) guests to enjoy.
The showroom windows were blacked out and space transformed into an edgy, urban style space to build guests’ and celebrities’ anticipation of the Bentley reveal, with a secret club downstairs to continue the festivities. Boujis resident DJ ‘Klaus’ was on hand mixing tracks to the acoustic sounds of the new V8 engine.
H.R. Owen was established in Mayfair by Howard Rolfe Owen in 1932, but the dealership has never seen a party like this before where Boujis have converted the basement showroom to resemble a cocktail lounge swathed in red.
In 2011 H.R. Owen grew its Bentley representation further with the £1.5m acquisition of Broughtons of Cheltenham so that its portfolio includes Bentley, Rolls Royce, Bugatti and Audi.
And to keep pace with increased ownership of luxury cars, H.R. Owen last year completed the move of its Jack Barclay service facility from Vauxhall to a new facility at Burr Road, Wandsworth, south west London.
Prices for the new Bentley on display start from £123,850 and H.R. Owen anticipates that it will help fuel worldwide demand for the Bentley brand which reported a 37% rise in sales in 2011.
The new Bentley V8 engine delivers performance and power in the Bentley tradition. It achieves outstanding levels of fuel efficiency for the luxury performance sector and is capable of travelling over 500 miles (800km) on a single tank of fuel.
The arrival of the new V8 Continental models fulfills Bentley’s environmental commitment to produce a new powertrain that delivers a 40 per cent improvement in fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions.
