Exterior options
Racing and Track
Magneride Dual Mode Shock Absorber System
This innovative suspension system guarantees superior performance compared to standard oleodynamic systems in terms of:
- Response time:
- Response time of control system: 1 ms (10 times faster than a traditional system)
- Maximum response time of damper to stress: 10 ms (compared to 40 ms for a traditional system)
- Identical performance in compression and in rebound
- More power available for wheel control
- Silence:
- There are no moving parts (valves) in the damper
These specific features guarantee improved handling regardless of road conditions as well as superior road holding and exceptional active safety thanks to optimal tyre grip. The improved grip is also due to slower roll speed and maximum vehicle control regardless of road surface or driving mode (acceleration, braking, cornering, gear shifting).
This system is directly controlled via the steering wheel-mounted manettino.
Exterior and Colours Area
"50's-60's colours" paint colour
Like the rest of the Ferrari range, the New California will soon also be available in a choice of one of the 10 historic colours in the catalogue.
Out-of-range colours
As with all the cars in the Ferrari range, it will soon be possible to choose one of the out-of-range colours from the PNTO sample for painting the exterior of your New California.
Black external 'A' pillars
To give your car an even more characteristic flourish, you can now choose to have the front external A pillars in black. The pillars will be painted in Nero (black).
"Scuderia Ferrari" shields on front wings
Also the New California can be personalised with the historic Ferrari shields on its front wheel arches. The shields hark back to the historic Ferrari sports cars of the past and add an extra touch of sportiness to your car's line.
19'' diamond-finish forged wheels
As an alternative to the wheels provided as standard, it will shortly be possible to opt for 19" one-piece forged wheels with an alternative "star" design. The wheels also feature an elegant diamond finish that gives them a particular lustre and makes them more resistant to minor impacts.
20'' diamond-finish SPORT wheels
This wheel rim style was created to allow even greater personalisation for owners and is characterised by a diamond finish that really enhances its sleek shape. Available only as a 20" - for improved road holding and driveability even in extreme situations.
Coloured brake calipers
The New California sports, as standard, black brake calipers. However, it is also possible to choose from the following list to suit your own tastes:
- Rosso Corsa
- Rosso Scuderia
- Giallo Modena
- Grigio Alluminio
Interiors and Materials
Carbon-fibre trim for driver's zone
To make the New California's driver's area even sportier than ever, owners may order carbon-trim as an option. This package includes carbon-fibre for upper arch and steering wheel plate, F1 paddles and instrument panel backdrop.
LED steering wheel
For an even sportier steering wheel, owners can order this particular option, a carbon-fibre steering wheel with LEDs. Not only is the central airbag surround and upper rim trimmed in carbon-fibre but a row of LEDs set into the upper rim also provide a readout for the engine revs, lighting up as the engine speed increases (one LED for every 500 rpm). This makes it easier for the driver to keep an eye on the engine speed and control it if necessary. This particular steering wheel will also be available as a single optional accessory (the F1 paddles and instrument panel remain standard) or in combination with a carbon-fibre driving area.
Rev counter colour
As for the rest of the Ferrari range, the New California can also be personalised by choosing a different colour for rev counter than the standard black one.
The selection available is:
- Red rev counter
- Yellow rev counter
Special colour for windscreen arch and A pillars, upper dash, central tunnel, tunnel armrest and steering wheel
The colour of the leather trim in certain areas of the cabin can be personalised to make the New California's interior even more attractive.
- The windscreen arch and A pillars, black in the standard configuration, can be personalised with the same colours of the interior.
- Upper dash can be personalised in any of the 9 dark leather colours (view pictures below). In addition to this, it will also be possible to choose from two new leather colours: Cioccolato and Iroko.
- Central tunnel, black in the standard configuration, can be personalised with the same colours of the interior.
- The armrest on the tunnel, black in standard configuration, can be personalised with the same colours of the interior.
- The steering wheel can be personalised whit the 12 leather colours and also with the new Cioccolato and Iroko.
Heat reflective interior leather trim
Among the available options, car interiors can be fitted with heat reflective leather. This option will see the components most exposed to sunlight trimmed with a heat-reflective leather. This special leather, already used on the F430 Spider, prevents the leather from overheating and lowers the surrounding temperature by around 30%. As a result, you can leave your car's top down on sunny days without coming back to a blisteringly hot interior.
The areas trimmed with this particular leather are:
- Steering wheel
- Complete seats
This particular leather is available in the following colours:
Nero - Blu Scuro - Blu Medio - Charcoal - Bordeaux
The other parts of the cabin will be trimmed in standard leather in the same colour.
In addition to this, it will be possible to choose a contrasting colour for the steering wheel, also in reflective leather, from the list of colours indicated above.
Two-tone leather interior trim
This option allows you to personalise your car's interior with an elegant two-tone leather colour scheme. The second colour can be selected from the catalogue colour range.
You can still choose Daytona-style two-tone leather front seats as part of your two-tone interior.
Full Electric Seats
Full electric front seats can be fitted to the Ferrari California.
The functions of these seats allow total adjustment for superb comfort combining a sporty driving with the comfort needed for long motorway journeys.
The additional functions of these seats are as follows:
- Height adjustmen
- Tilt (passenger seat)
- Lumbar support adjustment
- Seat side adjustment
- Heat
- Three memory settings
Daytona-style seats, diamond stitched leather, piping to seats
The New California's seats can be personalised with different styles of upholstery.
It will be possible to choose from a Daytona-style or Diamond-stitched style.
The seat can also be surrounded with piping in the colour of your choice from the 14 colours in the range.
Coloured seatbelts
As for the rest of the Ferrari range, the seatbelts of your New California (both in two-seater and 2+ versions) are available in a choice of five colours.
Special stitching colours
You will also be able to choose the colour of the stitching in the cabin as follows:
- stitching colour upon request
- stitching colour upon request with shorter shed and thicker thread
Aluminium driver and passenger footrests
To bring an extra touch of sportiness to the interior of your New California you will shortly be able to replace the driver and passenger footrests with aluminium ones. Made from perforated aluminium, they brighten up the bottom of the cabin too.
Spare wheel kit
The New California comes, as standard, with a tyre repair kit and a small air compressor (to be found in the boot). However, if you prefer to have a spare wheel, you choose it through this option. The spare wheel will be positioned in a special housing in the boot.
Equipment & Travel
Run Flat tyres
To offer that extra protection on longer journeys, you can also opt to equip your New California with Run Flat tyres. In case of puncture, they won't fully deflate and will allow the driver to continue driving for a further 120 km or so at a maximum speed of 80 kph, giving you the opportunity to get to a workshop. If you choose to use these tyres (available only with 19" wheels), you will also have to install the tyre pressure monitoring system.
Tyre pressure & temperature monitoring system
You may also opt to install a tyre pressure monitoring system on your New California.
This system constantly monitors the pressure and temperature of your car's four tyres and will alert you in case of drop of pressure or unusual change in temperature.
Satellite antitheft system + 1 year service
As for the rest of the Ferrari range, the New California can be fitted with a satellite antitheft system. This system continuously monitors the car by satellite and, if stolen , allows prompt tracing. In addition to the system installed in the car, this optional also includes a service subscription for one year.
iPod® Connection
Music fans will be delighted to know that they can equip their New California with an iPod connection. The connector plug is located inside the glove compartment and the iPod will be housed in a special pocket inside the glove compartment too.
Cruise control
If you intend to use your New California on motorways, you may wish to consider the Cruise Control option available in the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Catalogue. This system sets the cruising speed you require and maintains it automatically through a paddle on the steering wheel column. The system also allows you to increase or decrease the speed setting and adapt it to your personal requirements. The system can be manually deactivated using the paddle on the steering wheel column or automatically deactivated by touching one of the pedals.
Electrochromic wing mirrors
In addition to the electrochromic interior mirror provided as standard in the New California, you will shortly be able to have electrochromic wing mirrors. They automatically darken when dazzled by another car behind.
AFS - "Advanced Frontlighting System" Headlights
This new system offers a wider area of illumination during night-time, ensuring greater driving safety. The headlamp beam angles are adjusted in line with three elements:
- Steering angle
- Speed
- Lateral acceleration
The system deactivates when overtaking and parking and to avoid a shadow zone in the car's trajectory, the horizontal adjustment of each headlamp is limited to between 7.5 degrees to the inside of the car and 15 degrees to the outside of the car.
Car leather luggage set - 2-seater car only
You can order a pair of special leather cases that fit the rear bench in the two-seater version of the New California. These are made in the same colour leather as the interior and are kept securely in place by elegant straps attached to the bench.
Leather luggage set for boot
For longer journeys, you can also order a very handy luggage set that fits your car's boot.
The set is trimmed in leather in the same colours as your car's interior and is made up of two hard shell cases and a suit-holder.
