Acceleration to 62mph takes 2.5 seconds, and to 124mph just 7.3 seconds, meaning the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport’s performance is on a par with modern Formula 1 racers. To achieve this, it has three different modes for optimum stability at different speeds. The standard mode works up to 124mph. Beyond here, the handling mode is engaged, drawing the car closer to the road and deploying the rear spoiler at 15 degrees. When driven with the roof open, the Grand Sport automatically adjusts the spoiler angle to 20 degrees, increasing downforce by precisely the right amount.
Maximum speed mode is activated by the driver, who uses a special key to unlock the mode before starting the car. The whole car is lowered and both rear wing and spoiler are set at two degrees. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport is now ready to attain its incredible top speed at more than 250mph.
