Bugatti Owners Club “La Vie en Bleu” event 2009
The now annual Bugatti Owners Club 'La Vie en Bleu' weekend in May, proved to be one the sunniest for the '100 years of Bugatti' celebrations so far. Jack Barclay as the sole UK approved Bugatti dealer was delighted to support the largest Bugatti Club in the world and a few Bugatti Veyron owners who gave up their valuable weekend time to show their super-sports Veyrons to the best crowds seen at the Gloucestershire hill climb for years.
It was the first weekend where the Veyron 'Pur Sang', number 2 of the only 5 ever produced, was given its first UK airing. The sun shone and the crowds were dazzled by the natural high polished aluminium and raw carbon fibre finish which is the feature of this unique Veyron. Also taking to the hill were Chocolate, Violet and Blue metallics in the colourful Veyron concours.
These were an undoubted modern day accompaniment to an awesome collection of the most successful Grand Prix cars of all time from Ettore Bugatti's racers of the 1920s & 1930s. Many millions of pounds worth of irreplaceable classic Bugatti left the start line to take on the famous hill, capturing the pre-war razzamatazz of the Roaring Twenties and a Gentleman's pastime of yester-year. Like all matters-Veyron related, you had to be there to believe it. A Bugatti petrol head’s heaven.
