Bentley’s Flying Spur range now offers four variations on a theme of space, luxury and stupendous performance. Fans of Bentley’s muscular 4.0 V8 can choose between Flying Spur V8 and the more sporting V8S. Now the Flying Spur W12 and new W12S give buyers the same choice, but with twelve cylinders under the bonnet.
Bentley’s CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer describes the W12S as a Flying Spur with more attitude; extra power and torque are complemented by more responsive handling, while dark-tinted design details hint at the performance intent of the new Flying Spur flagship.
Where the standard W12 features chrome, the W12S sports gleaming black. These details include the radiator and window surrounds as well as lights, rear bumper, door handle inserts and headlight washer caps. Front and rear lamps are dark tinted, while the front bumper, rear diffuser, door mirrors and front radiator matrix are gloss black, like those of the Flying Spur V8S.
Two dark and dramatic wheel designs are offered; a gloss-black 21" 7 spoke design or a new 21" five-spoke directional wheel, which can be ordered in either dark tint or gloss black.
The interior continues the dark and moody theme. Fascia and waistrails are in black engine-spin finish, though satin carbon-fibre is offered as an alternative. Seats are diamond-quilted, with contrast stitching. There’s also a choice of 17 accent colours in a two-tone split that is unique to this model. The three-spoke Sport Plus steering wheel comes with knurled paddleshifters, while W12S badging and headrest stitching add a finishing touch. A Wi-Fi hotspot and remote touchscreen allows the entrepreneur in a hurry to catch up on the latest market news in comfort, but come the weekend he or she will surely prefer to take the wheel.
