Vanquish

In a first for an Aston Martin, the body panels of the Vanquish are constructed entirely from carbon fibre. The huge strength and light weight of this material gives the new edition 25% more torsional rigidity than the DBS. Accordingly, the second-generation model gives the driver outstanding cornering ability and resistance to body roll, as well as complementing the existing safety measures.

The second-generation Vanquish pays homage to its namesake and predecessor, whilst incorporating numerous elements from the One-77. Amongst the stylistic cues to come from the limited-edition supercar are the similar LED rear light blades, side strakes, and bonnet vents. Another notable feature is the new Aero Duct on the boot lid, which (as well as adding to the elegant looks of the Vanquish) offsets rear-end lift at the rear when travelling at high speeds.

Overview

The normally aspirated 6.0 litre V12 engine of the Vanquish provides maximum power of 573PS (565bhp) and 620Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. This thrusts the Vanquish from a standing start to 62mph in a mere 4.1 seconds and giving it a top speed of 183mph.

There is also expansive headroom and legroom by the standards of most high-performance cars – enough for Aston Martin to present you with the option of two rear seats, if you need to make your Vanquish into a grand tourer. 368 litres of boot space also allows you to fit much more than the standard set of golf clubs in the back.

Technology

Along with its notable performance and looks, the Vanquish offers surprising practicality for everyday use. The precision of the 6-speed Touchtronic transmission means that power delivery is as smooth and effortless in a crowded urban environment as it is for higher-speed travel on the open road.

Your driving experience is heightened still further by the selection of in-car entertainment systems, which have been upgraded especially for the Vanquish. Through the 6.5” LCD touch-activated screen, it is possible to access a Wi-Fi Hub 5, A2DP Bluetooth® audio and phone streaming, and iPod®/iPhone® integration. These functions enable the driver or passenger to enjoy the premium-quality sound generated by the 13-speaker, 1000W Bang & Olufsen BeoSound system.
