Overview
The DBS Volante combines outstanding power and supreme control with open top motoring. The introduction of the convertible DBS Volante, the 16th convertible from Aston Martin, completes the DBS product range. The muscular shapes and forms from the DBS coupe combined with the unique surface language of the DBS Volante result in a convertible which exudes confidence.
The DBS Volante with its potent styling is designed to bridge the gap between the DBR9 GT1 race car and the thoroughbred DB9 road-going grand tourer. Technologies and materials derived from the motorsport and aerospace industries have been brought together to provide the driver with a high degree of performance and control. The DBS Volante also offers 2+2 seating, Bang & Olufsen audio feature as standard and the fully automatic Touchtronic 2 transmission is available as an option.
The convertible form of the DBS has been designed to ensure immaculate proportions between the roof and the body whether the roof is up or down. DBS Volante has been designed with a fabric roof - rather than a retractable hard top - so that the elegant lines and a low rear deck lid is preserved. When the convertible roof is down, it is stowed below a sculpted tonneau cover, unique to DBS Volante, which also houses the Roll Over Protection System (ROPS). The aerodynamic surface of the tonneau cover is designed to replicate the form of the roof communicating a sense of speed.
