Rolls Royce Motor Cars hosts LAPADA launch
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars London’s Berkeley Square showroom played host to the press launch of the 2009 LAPADA Art & Antiques Fair, a fitting venue as this year sees the event moving from Burlington Gardens and taking over the centre of Berkley Square itself for four days in September.
The LAPADA Art & Antiques Fair is moving to an exciting new venue in 2009. It will be held in the famous and centrally located Berkeley Square, at the very heart of Mayfair, London, just minutes from Bond Street and Piccadilly, with new dates from 24th-27th September.
The Fair features leading dealers in fine art and antiques, from traditional to contemporary paintings and sculpture, exceptional English and Continental furniture and works of art, jewellery, clocks and watches, ceramics, glass and other decorative arts.
This flagship annual event of LAPADA, the UK's largest trade association of professional art and antiques dealers, was launched to great acclaim in 2006, and caused queues in Burlington Gardens on the opening night. The LAPADA Art & Antiques Fair, Berkeley Square will now be presented in a spectacular purpose-built marquee, allowing a greater number of stands, up to 90, providing a clear and free-flowing layout and including a restaurant to cater for 100 covers.
For the past three years the Fair has been successfully staged at 6 Burlington Gardens by arrangement with the Royal Academy of Arts. LAPADA needed to move the Fair due to a change in tenancy at that venue and felt it essential for this now established event to remain in the prestigious surroundings of Mayfair, which naturally attracts international visitors and residents, as well as professionals from the worlds of finance and property based in this high profile part of London.
Sarah Percy Davis, Chief Executive of LAPADA, says of the move: "This presents a fantastic opportunity for LAPADA and its members to take their London Fair to a new and even higher level. We loved the location of Burlington Gardens, but it did also create challenges working within an historic building. The idea of a highly visible marquee in Berkeley Square, created to our own design and specifications, has invigorated the enthusiasm of our exhibitors, who are more than ready to take on this new move."
